WMC’s engagement in Aboriginal Relations ranges from hands-on community development for isolated FNMI communities to national policy and planning engagements.

While we offer expertise in the full range of management and governance disciplines, we are always learning from our clients. Our broad national network of contacts throughout FNMI communities and the agencies which serve them helps us to maintain a clear understanding of the complex issues which confront FNMI communities, their elected leadership and other orders of government.

We have a distinct philosophy and approach toward Aboriginal Relations consulting. We respect the diversity among FNMI peoples and recognize their rights and the legitimacy of their aspirations. We also understand the challenges to Canada to honor and respond to those rights, needs and aspirations in the context of many other competing priorities.  Whether the client is a First Nation, another order of government or a company, we approach each assignment as an experienced, objective third party.  We help clients and their key stakeholders to define shared objectives and formulate feasible, collaborative plans to deliver on their respective commitments. Our clients find this approach to be both constructive and helpful.
