Catherine Angus is a Director with Western Management Consultants, working out of our Calgary office. Catherine has over 17 years’ experience as a senior management consultant specializing in people services, including organizational effectiveness, change management, talent management, strategy & business planning, governance, organizational transformation and project management (including large scale multi-project initiatives focused on business process redesign and information systems changes). Working from the strategic planning phase all the way through to the implementation phase, Catherine has end-to-end experience over the life cycle of change initiatives. Catherine’s approach to working with clients is based on a foundation of collaboration and inclusiveness, leveraging her training in change leadership.
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Entrepreneurship from the University of Calgary. Recently she has completed the Organizational Change Program: Leading Change in Complex Organizations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management.
With a commitment to the profession of management consulting, Catherine has earned her Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation. She also holds the ICD.D designation, having completed the Directors Education Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The program focuses on the role of boards in strategic direction, financial strategy, risks & disclosure; guiding human performance and assessing enterprise risk and directing extreme and unique events.
Prior to management consulting, Catherine worked as a teacher, school administrator, mentor and coach, including work both locally in Alberta and internationally, in the Middle East.
Catherine is an active volunteer in the community with focus on the not-for-profit sector. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of the Calgary Public Library. She has also served on the YMCA Calgary Board (Chair Nominating & Governance Committee), and the Calgary Girls School Board. She has been an active volunteer with the Alpine Club of Canada, having participated for a number of years as the camp coordinator at the General Mountaineering Camps.
In her free time Catherine is a passionate back country skier, climber and trail runner, spending as much time as she can in the mountains with her family.
