Karen Watson, an affiliate with WMC, has over 18 years of experience developing solutions for private sector, public sector and Indigenous clients. She has developed solutions which obtained sales targets and process improvement savings of $400M.

Karen started her career as a project manager on technology, finance and procurement implementations. Then progressed to strategic sourcing projects where she led complex global negotiations on behalf of clients such as Shell, BP, BP Alaska, Chevron Texaco, Goodyear. During that period change management became a definitive focus on all of her projects as it became clear, successful, sustainable solutions benefit from change management to break down barriers, facilitate compliance and obtain project goals.

For the last 10 years, Karen has worked with Indigenous clients in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Her experience includes community engagement; economic development, governance; facilitation; organizational design, communication strategies; administrative policy development; finance administration and procurement; organizational design. Karen has performed various ‘barrier removal’ strategies to help them understand and adopt to change. Her experience working with Indigenous nations has provided both a community-level and strategic perspective.
