Our office environment is professional, relatively quiet and focused on delivering exceptional service to our broad range of clientele.

The role

The Business Services Team is a team of professionals supporting WMC’s consulting engagements, internal business development activities and maintaining the office.

We are looking for an individual who will be an integral member of our BST, taking direction from our Business Services Lead and from consultants. The ideal candidate is analytical, a good problem solver, an effective communicator, resourceful and well organized. The nature of our consulting business requires the ability to multi-task, be a self-starter, work well under pressure and handle tight deadlines. We require someone who is a team player, dependable, professional, has a strong work ethic and is committed to learning, growth and development.

This position handles a variety of tasks in support of our management consulting business spanning: business development, marketing, research, analysis, client delivery, special projects and office maintenance. 

The core activities include:

  1. Supporting the work of WMC in defining, identifying and pursuing business development and the work of consultants in preparing, developing and delivering on client assignments. Foundational activities include:

    • Research, data collection, analysis

    • Document development, proofing, formatting (word processing in MS Word)

    • Presentation development and refinement (including creation, layout, graphics in PowerPoint)

    • Proposal management and support

    • Survey development and administration

    • Event planning and management

    • Other activities in support of client engagements and pursuits

    • Planning, leading and executing special projects in support of internal and client facing initiatives

  2. Assuming responsibility for customer service orientation with clients, guests and consultants (first point of contact both in person and on the phone)

  3. Assuming responsibility for proactive care of daily office needs and any other tasks/projects that WMC deems useful to our business operations

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Superior organization skills, able to problem solve, think outside the box, apply creativity and innovation while dedicated to completing projects in a timely manner

  • Quality and detail oriented – taking pride in their work and producing consistently high quality

  • A self-starter, able to multi-task and work under deadlines while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor

  • A team player, able to work independently and take initiative while being open to/accepting of direction

  • Proficient with Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

  • Solid research and analytics skills

  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written
