Barney Dohm is a senior consultant with Western Management Consultants, specializing in First Nations economic development, governance transformation, strategic business planning, and project management. With over 20 years in executive leadership and more than a decade supporting Indigenous-owned enterprises, Barney is known for aligning strategy, governance, and community priorities to drive sustainable growth.
He brings deep experience in leading multi-million-dollar initiatives, managing diverse corporate and joint venture structures, and negotiating Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs). His project portfolio spans sectors including civil and building construction, energy, transportation, and Indigenous business partnerships consistently strengthening organizations through transparent governance, strong financial controls, and collaborative leadership.
Barney has held Board Director, Board Chair, CEO, President, COO, and board advisory roles for First Nations corporations and joint ventures. He is a trusted guide for governance realignment, operational restructuring, heavy equipment acquisitions and comprehensive project delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Barney has been an active volunteer with Scouts Canada for over 26 years, serving in multiple senior leadership roles including Group Commissioner, Area Commissioner, and Deputy Council Commissioner. A nationally recognized leadership trainer and recipient of several Governor General’s medals and commendations, he brings a deep commitment to community development and mentorship.
Barney is currently a CMC-candidate and holds a Master of Science (Honors) in Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Economics and Accounting.
